Effective Date: 03/10/2025
Thank you for choosing Wags to Riches for your pet’s grooming needs! Our goal is to provide a safe, positive, and stress-free grooming experience while maintaining clear communication and professional standards. By scheduling an appointment with us, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies:
Mutual Respect & Safety Policy
At Wags to Riches, we believe in fostering a positive and respectful environment for both our clients and our team. We are committed to treating every pet with kindness and care, and we expect the same level of respect toward our groomers.
Our groomers will always be professional, courteous, and patient with both pets and clients.
We expect clients to treat our team with respect and kindness in all interactions.
The safety and well-being of both your pet and our groomers is our top priority. If a pet becomes overly stressed or aggressive, we will adjust our approach as needed, which may include stopping the groom for their well-being.
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if a situation becomes unsafe for our team or the pet.
Vaccination Requirements
To maintain a safe and healthy grooming environment, we require the following vaccinations:
Puppies: Must have received at least two rounds of puppy vaccinations before their first groom.
Dogs 16 Weeks & Older: Rabies vaccination is required. (Medical exemptions accepted)
Proof of rabies must be provided—tags are not accepted as proof.
Sedation & Medical Considerations
Please do not administer any calming medication (vet-prescribed or natural) before grooming without consulting us first.
We prefer a pet’s first appointment to be unmedicated so we can assess their natural behavior.
If a groomer determines that medication may be beneficial for future visits, they will discuss it with you.
If a pet has been sedated without our consent or is too incoherent for grooming, the groomer has the right to refuse service. Full-service fees will still apply.
Post-Surgery & Open Wound Policy
Pets must be at least 2 weeks post-surgery before being groomed to ensure proper healing.
If a recent surgery is not disclosed at the time of booking, the groomer reserves the right to deny service. Full-service fees will apply for pets turned away for not meeting the 2-week post-op requirement.
Wags to Riches reserves the right to deny service if a pet has open wounds, stitches, or untreated injuries.
Matting & Coat Care Policy
At Wags to Riches, we believe in putting your pet’s comfort and well-being first—we follow a "Safety Over Style" approach. Severe matting can be painful and stressful for your pet, and we prioritize humane grooming practices.
If your groomer determines that shaving is the safest option, dematting will not be performed. Groomers will contact you before shaving to see if you want to proceed, if you choose not to proceed you will be charged for the groomers time.
Matted pets and pets transitioning from long to short must be pre-shaved before bathing to prevent matting from tightening and causing additional discomfort.
Shaving a dirty coat can dull and damage our blades, which may result in an additional fee.
Matting Disclaimer
Dematting or complete coat removal will dramatically change your pet’s appearance.
This process may expose pre-existing skin conditions, for which Wags to Riches is not liable.
Grooming a matted coat increases the risk of injury, such as minor nicks or irritation, for which Wags to Riches is not responsible.
Additional Fees
Mobile Grooming at $20 per 15 minutes
Additional fees are based on time and special care needs, including but not limited to:
Aggressive pets or those requiring a muzzle
Pets unable to stand for more than 10 minutes
Pets with a history of seizures or severe anxiety
Pets with fleas, ticks, or parasites (additional cleaning fees apply)
Pets in heat (additional handling fee applies)
Pets requiring more than one groomer
While we always strive to inform clients of additional fees upfront, certain factors may not be fully evident until the groom is in progress. Fees may be determined at the end of the session.
Pricing Adjustments
If a scheduled service is downgraded at the time of the appointment, we reserve the right to charge the originally booked service price.
If a scheduled service is upgraded at the time of the appointment, a $25 convenience fee will apply in addition to the cost of the upgraded service.
Injuries & Emergencies
We prioritize safety, but accidents can happen.
In the event of an emergency while your pet is in our care, you authorize Wags to Riches to seek veterinary treatment at the nearest facility.
Veterinary costs incurred due to a grooming accident will be evaluated if the pet is taken to a vet within 24 hours of the injury.
Wags to Riches is not responsible for veterinary expenses resulting from underlying conditions, pre-existing issues, or reactions to grooming.
Inclement Weather Policy
Client Responsibilities
At Wags to Riches, the safety of our team, clients, and their pets is our top priority. Inclement weather—including snow, ice, extreme cold, extreme heat, and severe storms—can impact our ability to operate safely.
How We Determine Cancellations or Modifications
Because we service all of Northwest Arkansas and our staff live in various locations, road conditions and weather impact can vary. We will always err on the side of caution.
Temperature Extremes: Our vans are not designed to withstand severe heat or cold for extended periods. If temperatures reach unsafe levels, we may need to adjust schedules or reschedule appointments.
Severe Weather Days: If storms, flooding, high winds, or other hazardous weather create unsafe conditions for travel or grooming, we may cancel or modify appointments for the safety of our team and pets.
Why We Take These Precautions
Safe Access: Clients must ensure a clear and safe path for our groomers to walk their pets to and from the van.
Alternative Locations: If a groomer determines your road is unsafe or weather conditions prevent safe operation at your location, you may be asked to meet at a nearby accessible area.
Appointment Changes: If conditions prevent us from safely operating, we will reschedule appointments as soon as possible. We are typically able to accommodate rescheduled appointments within 7 to 10 days.
Our mobile grooming vans do not handle like standard vehicles. Even minor roadway issues, extreme temperatures, or severe weather can create unsafe working conditions for our team and your pets.
Cancellation & Reschedule Policy
At Wags to Riches, we strive to provide reliable and high-quality grooming services while maintaining an efficient schedule for all clients.
Appointment Reminders
Clients will receive a reminder 4 days (96 hours) before their scheduled appointment.
A final reminder will be sent 48 hours before the appointment at 9 AM.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours before the appointment will result in a 100% cancellation fee.
No call/ no-shows will be charged 100% of the scheduled service, in order to rebook we will require a card to be on file.
Wags to Riches reserves the right to charge the card on file for applicable cancellation fees.
If Wags to Riches cancels or reschedules, all fees will be waived.
Emergencies: Handled on a case-by-case basis with notice.
Why This Policy?
Last-minute cancellations leave gaps in our schedule, making it difficult to accommodate other clients.
Our groomers are commissioned based and operate on a pre-planned schedule, and unexpected changes disrupt their schedule and impart their livelihood.
Implementing this policy allows us to continue offering quality service while respecting our groomers' time.
Appointment Timing & Latchkey Policy
Latchkey Policy
As a mobile grooming service, appointment arrival times are subject to change due to factors such as traffic, weather, and the personalized care we provide to each pet. While we strive to arrive within the scheduled window, grooming times may vary slightly based on the needs of each pet. We will always do our best to notify you of any delays or early arrivals and provide updated ETAs as needed.
For your convenience, you do not need to be home at the time of your pet’s appointment. We are happy to retrieve your pet from a secured yard or from inside the garage or home using a key or door code provided by the client.
If your pet will not come to us or is difficult to retrieve, additional and/or full-service fees may still apply, as a scheduled grooming slot was reserved for them.
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time of service.
Accepted payment methods:
Credit & debit cards (standard processing fees apply)
Cash (please note we do not carry change)
Checks (payable to Wags to Riches)
NSF Fees
NSF (non-sufficient funds) fee of $50 will be charged and checks will no longer be accepted. A card on file will be required to rebook.
Wags to Riches reserves the right to charge the card for unpaid invoices after 48 hours.
